The City of Miramichi region has a number of financial incentives available to creative technology firms. Below is a sample of some of the financial programs available to qualified applicants:
The New Brunswick Digital Media Development Program – Recently, the Province of New Brunswick announced the creation of the New Brunswick Digital Media Development Program, which will allow digital media companies based in New Brunswick access to payroll rebates up to a maximum of $15,000.00 per employee (gaming).
The New Brunswick Multimedia Initiative – In December of 2011, the Province of New Brunswick announced the creation of the New Brunswick Multimedia Initiative. This program will allow new media companies the opportunity to receive financial assistance for 25-30% of eligible expenses incurred in the Province during the process of developing the product (animation).
Frank McKenna Technology Fund – On May 28th, 2011, Frank McKenna, Deputy Chair of the TD Bank Group and former Premier of the Province of New Brunswick announced a funding contribution of $1 Million for the Miramichi region. The fund will make equity investments into technology companies in each of the next 5 years with an expectation that the fund will, in time, be self-sustaining and allow for further investments in the region. The fund has been established to assist Miramichi based technology companies grow and develop their businesses.
Miramichi Regional Economic Development and Innovation Fund – The Miramichi Regional Economic Development and Innovation Fund will provide incremental assistance totaling $50 million over a four-year period from April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2015.
